A duration of immunity of at least 26 weeks has been demonstrated against respiratory disease.
What Is It For?
Fostera® PRRS has shown to be effective for the vaccination of healthy swine 1 day of age or older in PRRS virus-positive herds against respiratory and reproductive disease caused by PRRS virus.
How Effective Is It?
Fostera® PRRS is labeled to help combat the impacts of both reproductive and respiratory diseases, helping protect both the breeding herd and growing pigs.
The earliest immune response. Fostera® PRRS is the only commercially available PRRS vaccine labeled for administration as early as one day of age.
The long-lasting immune response. Fostera® PRRS carries a duration of immunity (DOI) claim of at least 26 weeks against respiratory disease. Fostera® PRRS also carries a DOI of at least 19 weeks against reproductive disease.
Fostera PRRS helps deliver:
-More pigs to market: Fostera® PRRS helps deliver more live pigs by helping prevent reproductive disease caused by PRRSV.7
-More pounds of pork to market: Fostera® PRRS was shown to help growing pigs get to marketing faster with improved average daily gain (ADG) in the face of a PRRSV challenge.2-6
Dosage and Administration
Aseptically rehydrate the freeze-dried vaccine with the sterile diluent provided. Shake well and aseptically administer a single 2-mL dose intramuscularly. Efficacy has not been demonstrated in seropositive piglets. In young pigs, revaccinate after maternally derived antibodies to PRRS have declined. Safety of this product has been demonstrated when sows or gilts are vaccinated prior to breeding or at any stage of pregnancy. Protection against reproductive disease, however, was demonstrated when animals were vaccinated six weeks prior to breeding. Consult your veterinarian for appropriate use and timing of vaccination.
